Real world data on the effectiveness and safety of dupilumab in adult patients with uncontrolled severe chronic rhinosinusitis with nasal polyps (CRSwNP)

Introduction Dupilumab is the first approved antibody-based systemic add-on treatment option in Germany for severe uncontrolled chronic rhinosinusitis with nasal polyps (CRSwNP). The aim of this study to compare and evaluate response patients treated dupilumab 300mg every 2 weeks our clinic since 2019 based on some parameters necessary indication monitoring therapy better assess impact therapy.Material Methods October 2019, we indicated 39 (17m, 22f). following were collected: Sinonasal Outcome Test-22, one-second capacity, olfactometry, a Visual Analog Scale overall discomfort, Nasal Polyp Score (NPS), total IgE, eosinophil cationic protein, eosinophils.Results mean age was 53.2 (SD ±15.3). follow-up period 12 months. SNOT-22 showed score 60.9 (±22.3) at initial presentation 23.4 (±18.2) NPS 4.3 (±1.5) 1.4 (±1.2) Olfactometry (Sniffin' Sticks) baseline value 3.3 (±3.7) 7.4 (±3.6) after other also significant improvement over time, revision surgery not required any cases.Conclusion There findings symptoms all mentioned categories months therapy. therefore good alternative CRSwNP. However, high annual costs, should be well reviewed set according guidelines.
